Cry Engine 3 – Stage 4

Today I focused on the environment the building is going to be in, I put together some of the textures that come with cry engine to create some basic terrain colour. From here I went in and added some place holder foliage. that also came with cry engine, if I get time I hope to replace all this foliage with my own. I had done this all before as shown in a previous post, but my terrain has changed quite a bit since that iteration of my project so I had to re-do it all. Below are some screenshots of my environment without and then with foliage.

Cry Engine 3 – Stage 5

I got a few textures imported and materials created today, here is an update.

Cry Engine 3 – Stage 3

I have imported and set up materials for several more assets, here is some progress I have made.

Asset 8

This asset is one that will feature extensively throughout the main building, therefore it was extremely important that there was minimal visual tiling, in order to achieve this I kept a small no detailed gap either side of the main detail. I am pleased with this piece it really fits in well with the building and helps break up the brick texture that most of the other pieces use, it gives good contrast.

Asset 6 & 7

I imported another two  assets and textures for it into the engine today, created a material for it and after some tweaks I am happy with the result. I decided I would only need a diffuse map for these assets as they are on the top level of the building.

With these assets I think I there is little I could have improved, there is good use of UV space and the assets fit in well with the other assets to make up the building.

Asset 4 & 5

I imported another asset and textures for it into the engine today, created a material for it and after some tweaks I am happy with the result. It is a window for the bottom level of the building and a second asset that has no window, this is to reduce the tiling.

Asset 3

I imported another asset and textures for it into the engine today, created a material for it and after some tweaks I am happy with the result.
